Seasons of Self supports wellbeing for individuals and communities through the tranformational power of creativity and the wisdom of nature.
Now more than ever, we need to do tactile, tangible things. With our hearts and hands, of our own free will, inspired from within. Intentional actions, with real people, in real time.
Many people struggle to find opportunities to express themselves creatively. Many more feel disconnected from the natural world. Seasons of Self invites you to reconnect with nature through your senses, and rekindle your creative essence through curiosity, play, experimentation, and imagination.
Sessions are about self-exploration, self-reflection and self-discovery, helping you move toward greater awareness and fulfilment.
The world moves in seasons and cycles,
the invitation is to explore yours…
Tap into the transformative potential of:
Creative Expression
Hands on, open-ended, playful and experimental. Use a variety of materials - each with their own intelligence (tearing and arranging paper into a collage offers something different to shaping and moulding clay into a form) to express yourself freely and without pressure to perform.
Working symbolically through imagery can also enable us to articulate what we cannot put into words.
Creative expression is a powerful ingredient in affirming individual identity. It can also be a catalyst for collaboration and means by which to celebrate diversity within groups.
Nature Connection
Sessions held outdoors provide an opportunity to reflect on the intrinsic intelligence of the more-than-human-world, whilst also prompting you to tune-into your own intrinsic nature. Lower stress, release tension, boost your mood, improve cognitive function and creative thinking, restore focus and attention, sooth and calm the nervous system… there are myriad benefits!
We are not separate from nature, but inextricably connected to the web of life that surrounds us. Increasing urbanisation and digital creep can mean we forget the significance of this reciprocal relationship.
In the face of climate anxiety, eco-grief, and loss, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and become immobolised. Attuning to beauty, awe, and wonder can be a potent antidote for despair. Active appreciation has a way of thawing out the frozen/stricken self with a warm renewing breath of hope.
